As we bring our study of the gospels to a close, I would like to revisit an idea Jesus briefly mentioned. We understand that when a person becomes a Christian, so many things change. He is no longer a slave to sin, but rather a priest and a prince in the kingdom of God! His position is elevated and he sits on a throne in the presence of Christ. What an amazing change. That’s how God sees us, and that’s how we ought to see ourselves. But when we read the New Testament, we see that almost all the authors of the New Testament letters address themselves as a bond-servant of God, or in other words, a slave. They willingly make others greater, in order to bring honor and glory to God. Join us this Sunday at 6:30 as we discuss what a servant of God is and does, and how to be excited about it.
